BBC smash hit TV show Top Gear is due to make its return to British screens in 2016 following the release of long time presentation trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. In the the build up to series 23 a short new trailer hit YouTube on Thursday already reaching nearly 1.5 million hits.

With a brand new presentation team consisting of former TFI Friday host Chris Evans alongside American TV personality Matt Le Blanc, German Nordschleife specialist Sabine Schmidt and of course mercurial Irishman Eddie Jordan, Top Gear heads into brave new waters in 2016 with many viewers keen to have a first glimpse of the new direction the show is taking post Clarkson era.

Although produced for UK TV viewers via the BBC Top Gear has somewhat of a cult status across the globe with petrol heads from all corners of the world enjoying the latest car related hijinks performed by the Top Gear team.

With a new presentation team and change of production personnel heading into the new season fans of the show are excited to see how the most popular motoring programme on TV fairs in its new format.

Alongside the new Top Gear, Clarkson, May and Hammond have once again rekindled their highly successful TV relationship to bring another new motoring show to growing media platform Amazon. The as yet untitled programme is currently under filming and should be aired on Amazon within the year.

It will be very interesting as 2016 progresses to see how the two teams fair in the race to become top dog of the TV airwaves.

How do you think the new look Top Gear will be received amongst fans? Do you think the presentation team are a good choice? Will you be watching come release date? Let us know in the comments section below!

You beat me to it with the anouncement .....
looks like Matt is doing a Clarkson impression and that radio guy had some serious overacting issues. But hey as long as they Stig (got it;)?) to the focus on the cars I think I'm ok with it.

ROFL, so instead of doing their own thing they just decided to copy the old format of "entertainment, not factual" show... I bet all those people that were sooooo above the whole 'three middle aged rich white men screwing around' shtick will be really happy now. :D

Also damn... poor guys, got hit with so many dislikes. Definitely don't deserve that, aleast not before they even got a chance.

I'm immediately overwhelmed by how many dislikes there are on that trailer. Haven't seen that much ever since...that certain music video by a certain Canadian pop-star.
Anyway, hopefully some people will upload small clips from the new Clarkson, Hammond, and May show on Youtube. I want my Captain Slow fix.

I guess the main audience will be younger folks who didn't see the threesome shows or haven't connected with it yet. It's maybe more of a generation clash, old school vs new kids on the block. I am all about old school for sure. Even my house is from pre-WWI era

Obviously they'll never have the same chemistry that Clarkson, Hammond and May had, nor will the show be as good, but I think its really unfair for the video to have been down voted into oblivion simply because it's not Clarkson, Hammond and May.

Really looking forward to the stuff that Chris Harris will bring to the show. That's him driving the F12 TDF at Paul Ricard in the video :)

I'm I the only one that didn't like Top Gear? It was so great in the beginning when it actually was about cars and not about who could beat an airplane flying upside down with a 2004 Volvo while eating a cheese burger.

Bitter? Yes.

Personally, I think the only way this can turn out well is if Chris Harris locks all the others in an aircraft hanger and just puts out some more Chris Harris on Cars videos.

No. My thoughts exactly. With Schmitz and, to a lesser extent, Harris on the show I had hoped for something a bit more grounded in reality again. The trailer makes a point of going into the opposite direction even further. I don't like that and therefore I gave it a dislike not related to the previous cast in any way.

Regard that as my coming-out as a disliker of that trailer.

Even Codemasters (with Dirt Rally) realised that everyone has had enough of gymkana and Ken Block but that message hasn't reached the BBC yet apparently.

I'M WITH YOU. ENJOYED THE FIRST SEASONS WITH THE OLD TRIO, BUT BY THE LAST 4 to5 seasons I spent more time zipping through the stupid stunts on the DVR. They were their best, IMO, when they spent their time driving and talking about the cars rather than the endless cat and mouse chase games.

Thanks for reminding me. Downvoting now. Never ever under any circumstances should there be an American actor (not even a good one at that) in this rip off.

I can't wait for Clarkson to hammer the BBC with free reign. It will be like Howard Stern getting to curse freely. :roflmao:

(Actually, Schmidt makes it tolerable, and it is a "car show" after all...so it can't be all bad, but I must not watch the first season on principal, lol).

Never liked topgear, but this is even worser.

New Top Gear is like Top Gear USA, bad, atleast Chris Harris will balance the bad out a bit with some good.

Someone made a good joke in the comments. "another fifth gear.

will watch the first episode or two, then decide.
If its as shite as people expect, it won`t make it back for another series.
there are just too many useless presenters in it.....
