In a surprise move, Assetto Corsa Competizione is getting a new track before the Nordschleife is added later this year, the Red Bull Ring with the GT2 Car Pack arriving 24 January.

New tracks in Assetto Corsa Competizione are like buses. You wait for what seems like forever for one, and then two turn up in very quick succession.

After the Circuit Ricardo Tormo was added in April 2023, ACC fans were eagerly awaiting what the next new track was going to be, if there even was going to be one considering they are developing the follow-up to the original Assetto Corsa.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife was announced back in November and the community collectively cheered as the track that has been by far the most requested for ACC was finally being added to the game. With all the work that Kunos will have put into the near 26-kilometre track, it would be reasonable to believe that they would not have the time to make yet another venue.

The 2.7-mile circuit in the Styrian mountains has hosted the Austrian Grand Prix from 1970 to 1987 when it was known as the Österreichring, then as from 1997 under the name A1-Ring. Once again revived since 2014, it is a very popular track with its long straights, heavy braking zones and prominent elevation change. Plus, the challenge that comes with its relatively short length.

As always, tracks that come to ACC must be on an SRO Motorsports Group-sanctioned series’ schedule. This is why the Nordschleife is only just getting added, due to the 24 hours of Nürburgring joining the Intercontinental GT Challenge schedule for this year.

With the Red Bull Ring being added with the GT2 Car Pack, it should be no surprise to learn that the GT2 European Series held a round at the circuit in 2022 and 2023. Although the circuit is not on the schedule for this season.

The cars confirmed for the GT2 Car Pack arriving tomorrow are the following:
  • Audi R8 LMS GT2
  • KTM X-Bow GT2
  • Maserati MC20 GT2
  • Mercedes-AMG GT2
  • Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo
  • Porsche 935 (2019)
Unfortunately, the Brabham BT62/BT63 will not be included in the pack. With the Brabham Group and Brabham Automotive ceasing collaboration, the car will no longer be racing in the series.

Nevertheless, the GT2 Car Pack with the six cars and the Red Bull Ring will be released on 24th January for PC players. Consoles are yet to be confirmed, although typically the console release tends to be a couple of months after the PC release. It is currently unknown how much the GT2 Car Pack will cost but once released, we will update this article with the information.

To check out an early preview of the GT2 cars and the Red Bull Ring, head on over to the OverTake Twitch channel at 7 pm CET where Michel and Yannik are taking part in the preview event with many other sim racing content creators.

I'm going to be checking out how well they modelled the kerbs in turn 1, lap after lap.
Also the run off for turn 9. I'm really surprised Kunos didn't approach me during development. I don't think there are a lot of people around who have more experience in that specific area.

Should be good with those new GT2 cars with a lot of horsepower and reduced aero.

Just like any of your posts. Double posting, flaming, one sentence posts... there used to be rules in forums, nowadays boomers go around the internet thinking they're on Facebook. Moderators, why do we have to endure the presence of these people? Too bad I can see these post when I'm not logged in.
Oh, oh, AMS2 creeps are here.
Sounds like sarcasm is not your forte.
