Red Bull Ring coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione in GT2 Car Pack

In a surprise move, Assetto Corsa Competizione is getting a new track before the Nordschleife is added later this year, the Red Bull Ring with the GT2 Car Pack arriving 24 January.

New tracks in Assetto Corsa Competizione are like buses. You wait for what seems like forever for one, and then two turn up in very quick succession.

After the Circuit Ricardo Tormo was added in April 2023, ACC fans were eagerly awaiting what the next new track was going to be, if there even was going to be one considering they are developing the follow-up to the original Assetto Corsa.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife was announced back in November and the community collectively cheered as the track that has been by far the most requested for ACC was finally being added to the game. With all the work that Kunos will have put into the near 26-kilometre track, it would be reasonable to believe that they would not have the time to make yet another venue.

The 2.7-mile circuit in the Styrian mountains has hosted the Austrian Grand Prix from 1970 to 1987 when it was known as the Österreichring, then as from 1997 under the name A1-Ring. Once again revived since 2014, it is a very popular track with its long straights, heavy braking zones and prominent elevation change. Plus, the challenge that comes with its relatively short length.

As always, tracks that come to ACC must be on an SRO Motorsports Group-sanctioned series’ schedule. This is why the Nordschleife is only just getting added, due to the 24 hours of Nürburgring joining the Intercontinental GT Challenge schedule for this year.

With the Red Bull Ring being added with the GT2 Car Pack, it should be no surprise to learn that the GT2 European Series held a round at the circuit in 2022 and 2023. Although the circuit is not on the schedule for this season.

The cars confirmed for the GT2 Car Pack arriving tomorrow are the following:
  • Audi R8 LMS GT2
  • KTM X-Bow GT2
  • Maserati MC20 GT2
  • Mercedes-AMG GT2
  • Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo
  • Porsche 935 (2019)
Unfortunately, the Brabham BT62/BT63 will not be included in the pack. With the Brabham Group and Brabham Automotive ceasing collaboration, the car will no longer be racing in the series.

Nevertheless, the GT2 Car Pack with the six cars and the Red Bull Ring will be released on 24th January for PC players. Consoles are yet to be confirmed, although typically the console release tends to be a couple of months after the PC release. It is currently unknown how much the GT2 Car Pack will cost but once released, we will update this article with the information.

To check out an early preview of the GT2 cars and the Red Bull Ring, head on over to the OverTake Twitch channel at 7 pm CET where Michel and Yannik are taking part in the preview event with many other sim racing content creators.

Will you be buying the GT2 Car Pack for ACC now that the Red Bull Ring will be part of it? Tell us in the comments below!

Just like any of your posts. Double posting, flaming, one sentence posts... there used to be rules in forums, nowadays boomers go around the internet thinking they're on Facebook. Moderators, why do we have to endure the presence of these people? Too bad I can see these post when I'm not logged in.
Damn, I can't even post "Nord when".
Useless thread.
There is clearly, 2 sentences here!!

Great news, I love the RBR.

Watching the live DLC preview. Track looks good and it's great to finally see a KTM car that is pleasant to look at. This is a very interesting DLC pack.

so how you would guys feel if some guy, idk let's call him Andrew_WTF, came here and start bitching on this ACC DLC.
Like you know, telling you that no matter what ACC will be sad and bad and it's driving model will never match HIS BEST SIMᵀᴹ.

So let's say you're excited and all, you're watching streams etc. and then some guy out of nowhere is start bitching and bitching and pissing on your parade, calling it "freedom of speach". Then his best internet pals are come along and then it's just a pissing contest.

Somewhere between the lines one of them states something like "Yeah we're angry because you're trying to tell everyone in the world that YOUR SIMᵀᴹ is the best of bestest" - dude like where and when, WTF? is someone dillusional or smth?

So what is the story with this Andrew_WTF? is he some kind of AC/C community representative here on RD?
You know, I just want to read some articles and comments here, feel good about the life, but this guy and his pals are annoying, like really annoying.

Sigh, let's just appreciate we have a handful of good sims that bring out good new content. And hopefully some more added to that list this year! Tastes are different and most of us can enjoy/appreciate at least a few of them. No need to dunk on the ones you don't like constantly. I enjoy both ACC & AMS2 and others.

All my favorite sims have downsides.
The ones I don't like are because of arbitrary personal things. Big whoop. Nobody cares nor should they.

I drive all sims, enjoying them all. I am just courious about this Andrew. I can see him all over internet bashing AMS2 (RD, granitedevices, reddit, you name it) and here, in this thread, I can see him happy as puppy, behaving almost like he owns RD.

So is it like your best pal or something? What's the deal with this Andrew?
Should I/we treat him with special care or something?

I will be purchasing the racing venue; the vehicles will be an ancillary addition to the purchase.

If you have something on ACC topic, please feel free to post, whether it's positive or negative, this is why we have all these "discussion" threads on non specific sim affiliated board, nothing is perfect and everyone is entitled to own opinion he should feel free to share without being attacked by some lapdogs.
If you decided to go on some personal vendetta on something unrelated to the subject of the thread, I suggest you GTFO to your AMS2 forum to cry on Renato's shoulder, tell him that Andrew is mean to you.

So, we need to treat him with special care then. Internet is a strange place, it's able to empower the lowest of us.
No dude, you need to learn how to handle the difference of opinion like an adult without going full ad-hominem.
This is a refresher for you if you are not familiar with the term.

Maybe so, I am just a human, I make mistakes, I feel sorry after and stuff. I don't feel good going full ad-hominem at you (didn't knew the term before).
I am not Renato lapdog, usually I cry on different occasions. I just want to read comments here on RD without toxicity (funny enough I've become part of the problem now) - as you can see toxicity is spreading and I have a feeling that it's also spreading from your posts under AMS2 articles. Don't you find it wierd that it's not only my opinion?

And this ad-hominem thingy, I didn't found many substance under you "griefy" posts, that's why I went after you. But maybe I just didn't looked close enough.
But for sure there is a substance there, in your toughts, but can you present it in less annoying way pls?
You and your "lapdogs" are spoiling my fun.

EDIT.
No, I am not AMS2 fanboy, it's not my best sim. I don't have "best" sim.

Just this negativity spreading from your direction is just, wow...

Well isn't personal attacks and bagging a studio nothing more then bagging it's engineers, modders and painters. :whistling:

Some of the vile spewed at ISI-MSG-S397 is reprehensible.
Being critical of "work" is totally not the same as a personal attack, but if you start reflecting your dissatisfaction with the product on people who made it, threatening them, calling names, etc. then it becomes more of a personal attack. Did it happen in rF2 threads, as I haven't seen any of those in any AMS2 discussions?
In other words it's the difference between "your product sucks" and "you are ugly and stupid".

So, guys, how did you like our small detour from main subject of this article?

Beginning of comments section was quite promising, people were happy and excited, but then conversation was skewed in to strange and akward directions.

What is the point?

So what, you say to a RD painter " Your skin sucks " is okay by you ?
