I have a stupid question i think. lel.
I followed the shark fin tutorial closely, step by step, but my car turns invisible. I did the Renault one, and when i went into the game, my car was gone, it was just my driver and four tires :D

Is because you haven't exported the dds as dxt5
 
Please how can you make a glossy/shiny custom helmet? I can make my own custom helmets (thanks to tutorial from Kris) but the helmets are always matte. I've seen lot of helmets here, that have glossy look. (and i dont mean some photoshop effect, it is in-game thing) Can someone help? thanks
 
COM 6 ( the one that Kris uses in the vid ) is pretty shiny . It shines in my game anyway with a black Haas helmet installed . Are you sure it's not your graphic settings in game ?

I have almost all graphic settings very high or maxed. And the original helmets from F1 drivers that are supposed to be glossy and shiny, they are. But my custom helmets are not. Look at this comparison:
look at the big difference of my matte helmet which is not shiny at all:

And now look at this example of one of the racedepartment helmet mods with very nice shiny look. lot of real drivers have this kind of glossy shiny coloured helmets:

So how can you achieve this shiny/glossy/metallic effect? The texture of the gold looking helmet above is simple (yellow) color, so it is something in-game and not any photoshop effect
 
Oh I didnt think you meant quite that shiny . Better to ask Kris I think with that one .

Also a question from myself for anyone which Ive already asked but noones helped , how do I edit the individual slices of a texarray file in either Photoshop , Paint.Net or GIMP ? I have seen files on here such as this ( http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/f1-2017-garage-driving-status-icons-to-words-mod.142049 ) that have modified texarray files . So how do you edit the individual elements of the texarray file ? Ive tried looking on google , Ive tried opening them in all 3 of the above softwares but cant get anywhere . A lot of textures in this game are tucked away in texarray files so it would help greatly if someone could let me know how to access them please . Some people obviously know hence the download I linked to , so can someone help me please .

I have the opposite problem, I made a renault helmet and in photoshop looks pretty good because its not shiny but in game looks pretty bad because it is glossy so is there any way to get it to look a little more like matte?
 
Hi, which is the better version of EGO ERP Archiver for F1 2017? I use 5.2 but i have problems (the game locked after some seconds).
By last, how i can export models of cars? Example: Put mercedes chassis on Renault.

5.2 works fine if you use the intel DDS plugin for saving so you can save in the srgb version of th eformat if needed (like helmets are DXT1 srgb).

The chassis switch is the same as it was last year so just go to the pkg files export the carmodel.layer.json (or something like that) of both the car you are editing and the chassis you are using, then copy the line for model : "..." from the chassis you want (say Mercedes) and paste it over the matching line in the Renault version of the carmodel json file. There's a detailed tutorial for it in the F1 2016 forum if you need it, same principle.
 
Anyone knows how decrease fuel consommation ?
If you want to try yourself, check the TEAM.vtf (xml) files in the
F1 2017\asset_groups\f1_2017_vehicle_package\teams\TEAM\wep\TEAM.erp and try messing around with FuelBurnScale values. I haven't done that but after a quick view (also at the upgrades) I thought it could be useful.
