Quest 2

in most scenario, even with my 1080ti, with decent grid and nice settings, I am driving at 45 ASW with CV1, how is this addressed with Quest2/oculus link?
Would I be able to hold even the 72 as in present sate? is 72 better, latency wise, than 45 ASW?

Why are we saying Quest2 cannot do 90HZ yet, it seems that there is already alot of ways to make it work at 90 hz on the internet, like here

It appears if you are going with these improved VR headsets then to achieve constant/fixed 90Hz it's going to likely be better with a new 3080 type performance card to achieve that and with nice gfx settings. Possibly a 3070 card which should be close in performance to a 2080ti but we will have to wait and see.

Yes plenty of info on how to get the Quest 2 to operate at 90Hz but "officially" it is still not yet available as an out-of-the-box experience.

Of course, different headsets have different resolutions so how demanding it is to achieve 90Hz or more will vary with the headset used.

HP Reverb 2
2160 x 2160 = 4,665,600

Quest 2
1832 × 1920 = 3,517,440

Oculus CV1
1080 × 1200 = 1,296,000

We see even with looking at the per eye pixel counts HP Reverb 2 has @25 more pixels and would be more demanding to run if both headsets were at native resolution and optimal 90Hz. Likewise, Quest 2 is more demanding than CV1 was.

Quest 2 with its very affordable price could be hitting a sweet spot for image quality and performance demands.

Someone is welcome to correct me if I am wrong as VR is not something I am that well clued up on and have only experienced ownership of the CV1 myself.
